Upon reaching the dramatic, rocky shores of Vulcano, prepare for a breathtaking coastal circumnavigation. Here, the island’s volcanic history unfolds in a mesmerising tapestry of layered rock formations, each stratum whispering tales of millennia past. Numerous sea caves punctuate the coastline, including the renowned Grotto di Cavellone, a stunning natural cavern where you’ll drop anchor for your first invigorating swim in the crystal-clear azure waters. Continuing your exploration of Vulcano’s intriguing coast, you’ll then land for a delightful aperitivo and a brief stroll around the pretty little town. Don’t miss the chance to witness the famed open-air thermal volcanic mud baths, renowned for their therapeutic properties since Roman times.

Next, your Zodiac will whisk you across the strait to Lipari, the archipelago’s largest island and its ancient capital. Here, you’ll disembark at the historic fishing port for a well-deserved lunch (please note this is not included in the tour price). Afterwards, lose yourselves in the charming labyrinthine streets, perhaps visiting the imposing Castello di Lipari, a citadel with layers of history dating back to Neolithic times, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding islands. No visit to Lipari is complete without succumbing to the temptation of savouring what many claim to be the most exquisite cannoli in all of Sicily.

Re-fueled and refreshed, you’ll rejoin your skipper to discover Lipari’s hidden gems and secluded beaches accessible only by boat, where you can plunge into the inviting waters for another swim and bask in the Mediterranean sunshine. Fully relaxed, your nautical journey continues with a captivating circumnavigation of the iconic Faraglioni di Lipari, dramatic sea stacks sculpted by the relentless forces of wind and wave and the striking formations of Pietra Lunga and Pietra Enala, both a testament to the raw, untamed beauty of this volcanic archipelago.
